Here are some details from the National Wildlife Federation concerning their “Certified Wildlife Habitat” program. We registered our yard a few years back and have been so pleased with the results… interesting insects, bird species and other fun critters have visited our yard and brought much joy to our family.
Did you know that May has officially been designated as “Garden for Wildlife Month”.
Garden for Wildlife Month is a special time of the year to rally, assist and encourage anyone who is passionate about wildlife to make a difference right in their own backyard.
A Certified Wildlife Habitat site is a place that welcomes birds, butterflies and other local wildlife. All you need to do is provide the four elements animals need most: food, water, shelter and places to raise young.
As a special offer in honor of Garden for Wildlife Month, National Wildlife Federation will plant one tree for each yard certified through their Certified Wildlife Habitat™ program.
