One of our favorite local events is the Mayor’s Bike Ride in Roanoke.  We look forward to our visit with Roanoke Mayor David Bowers and all the wonderful folks who come out to help kick off Bike Month!

Here are the details for this wonderful event!

ROANOKE, VA - Join Mayor Bowers, Roanoke Parks and Recreation, and RIDE
Solutions for a short ride to promote bike-friendly Roanoke on Saturday, May
5, at 9 a.m. The entire family is invited to attend this event which will
start in Bennington Park and end in downtown Roanoke. Avoid parking
problems. Enjoy the chili cookoff and the strawberry festival. Bring a
lock for your bike while you enjoy the famous city market.

Participants should meet in the parking lot at the water treatment plant.
There will be kids’ crafts and activities from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

Mayor Bowers will offer a proclamation in support of Bike Month and
recognize the winners of the Bike Hero and Extraordinary Bike Professional
awards at 9:45 a.m. The ride will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
