    September 24—September 30 Annually
    Take A Child Outside Week is a program designed to help break down obstacles that keep children from discovering the natural world. By arming parents, teachers and other caregivers with resources on outdoor activities, our goal is to help children across the country develop a better understanding and appreciation of the environment in which they live, and a burgeoning enthusiasm for its exploration.

  • KIVA's Fall Waterways Clean Up 2010

    Join KIVA families as we continue to help keep the Roanoke River an amazing place to play. We will join the Clean Valley Council and our pals from around the area to clean up around our favorite creekdipping spot at Green Hill Park. At 11:30, we will head to Wasena Park for a free picnic celebration. More info at www.cleanvalley.org.

We ended up having to pull names out of a really large hat!

Check out this wonderful resource.  So many kids enter that “wonderful” time in their life and they need to be reminded that they are not the only ones going through it all.  There are lots of great books available for this, but this one has Yoda and paper folding!
