    September 24—September 30 Annually
    Take A Child Outside Week is a program designed to help break down obstacles that keep children from discovering the natural world. By arming parents, teachers and other caregivers with resources on outdoor activities, our goal is to help children across the country develop a better understanding and appreciation of the environment in which they live, and a burgeoning enthusiasm for its exploration.

  • KIVA's Fall Waterways Clean Up 2010

    Join KIVA families as we continue to help keep the Roanoke River an amazing place to play. We will join the Clean Valley Council and our pals from around the area to clean up around our favorite creekdipping spot at Green Hill Park. At 11:30, we will head to Wasena Park for a free picnic celebration. More info at www.cleanvalley.org.

  Family Fun Day is today from 2-5pm! Come hear incredible music with Billy Jonas, animals from Mill Mountain Zoo, a moon bounce and scooters from Kirk Family YMCA, balloon animals, arts and crafts, games and so much more!

We’ll have a KIVA table set up with some of our favorite nature books and a reading tent.  You’ll need a place to rest after having this much fun!

Jefferson Center presents its first ever Family Fun Day. Travel around Jefferson Center to different performance spaces and jam along with Billy Jonas “Re-Percussion Orchestra, be enthralled by stories from Appalachian storytellers, transform into a wild beastie or an enchanted creature with theatrical face painting, play games, be entertained by clowns and much, much more!
